SIZ 2024 Annual Meeting
21st June 2024 - Hilton Hotel Grand Place, Brussels 

Dear colleague,

 

Let me cordially invite you again to participate in our yearly congress at the Hilton Hotel Grand Place in Brussels. 

We  are convinced we will offer you an intriguing scientific program.

The morning sessions focus on trauma care.

 

The topics cover as well the organization of trauma, the treatment of the neurotrauma patient or the fire victim, as well as the coagulation disturbances after major trauma.

 

Regardless of your basic profession or specialization, these topics might be of relevance for your daily practice.

And we are grateful for a testimony by a “patient”.

 

This is all very actual in view of the profound (re)organization on trauma care which will be imposed in our country.

Moreover, The Sepsis National Action Plan (2024 ) that will be launched by the Minister of Health in the near future, will be presented for the first time to our ICU community!

 

And…the era of critical care medicine itself is rapidly changing.

 

Therefore, we want to highlight yet another interesting program in the afternoon.

• How will AI influence our daily practice? Will the government finance medium care facilities rather than ICU beds?

• Should we test all our patients for genetic underlying disorders or SNPs in the future? How sustainable will be our ICU?

 

And finally, our young and/or future colleagues will present groundbreaking research either as an abstract or an oral presentation. Let's support them at the start of their career.

 

The venue (Hilton Hotel Brussels Grand Place - Carrefour de l'Europe 3, 1000 Brussels) at the Brussels Central Station is very convenient and can be reached by almost every type of public transportation.

 

We are very grateful for the many firms who give their support to the organization of this meeting.  

 

At the congress, the elections for new board members will be organized. Do not forget to apply to become a member of this board: we are particularly (but not exclusively) looking for “new and young” members, from both academic and non-academic sites.
