Airway Matters: Explore key concepts underlying safe, multidisciplinary airway management.

We would be grateful if you could pass on this email to your members, so that we can invite them to join us for Airway Matters, a free, flexible, online course on safe airway management, starting on 27 September 2021. Airway Matters has attracted 27,000 learners from 164 countries so far and is one of the Class Central 2021 Edition 100 most successful free online courses.

Complications in airway management can result in devastating outcomes.  How can we improve safety, prevent complications, and be prepared to manage difficulties when they arise? How, in a crisis, can we ensure that human and technical resources are best utilised?  In the context of COVID-19, how can we safely manage our patients whilst protecting ourselves and our colleagues?  Airway Matters explores answers to these questions.

Airway Matters was developed by University College London in collaboration with many worldwide experts, and has been endorsed by numerous professional bodies, including the Royal College of Anaesthetists, the Difficult Airway Society and the European Airway Management Society.

 

Who is this course for?

Airway Matters is for is for all members of the multidisciplinary team who provide airway support to patients, or care for patients with a compromised airway, including:

  • Adult and Paediatric Intensivists
  • Prehospital Care and Emergency Department Doctors

  • Members of the Cardiac Arrest Team
  • Healthcare professionals or students who are upskilling to provide support to critically unwell COVID-19 patients

FREE AND FLEXIBLE
Airway Matters is FREE. It runs over 5 weeks with a flexible 4 hours of learning per week and is hosted by the UK’s largest free online course provider, FutureLearn.  You are welcome to complete the entire course or just focus on the areas most relevant to your area of practice at this time.
